Meinl has been around since 1951 and has been founded by Roland Meinl. Meinll is one of the leading manufacturers of cymbals and one of the most unique companies among the major cymbal producers. They are the only cymbal manufacturer that uses 6 different alloys for crafting cymbals, which makes them unique in the industry and they offer a vast variety of cymbals series.
On our website you can find a range of cymbal series from Meinl, including: Byzance, Classics, Classics Custom, Classics Custom Extreme Metal, Generation X, HCS, Mb8, Mb10, Mb20, MCS and SoundCaster.
These series are suited for different types of players:
- Beginner/ Entry-Level Players:
- HCS Series - made using MS63 brass alloy an they are least expensive cymbals by Meinl.
- Intermediate/ Pre- Professional Players:
- Classics Series (including Classics Custom and Extreme Metal)- made using the B8 alloy which contains 92% copper and 8% tin.
- MCS Series - made using the same alloy as the Classics Series, the B8 bronze.
- Professional Players:
- Byzance Series - provide traditional sounds and they are available in either Jazz, Traditional, Dark, Brilliant, Extra Dry models. Made using the B20 alloy (80% copper, 20% tin)
- Generation X Series - this series have been developed along renowned artists such as Johnny Rabb, Benny Grebb and Thomas Lang.
- Mb8 Series - feature high-tech computerized hammering, and they produce a bright cutting sound. Made using the B8 bronze alloy.
- Mb10 Series - provide a cutting and warm sound and they are made using the B10 alloy ( 90% copper and 10% tin ).
- Mb20 Series - ideally suited for loud playing and they are made using the B20 alloy ( 80% copper and 20% tin ).
- SoundCaster Series - they come in either Custom or Fusion and they are made using the B12 alloy ( 88% copper and 12% tin, with traces of silver ).
